power switch connections

I took the side cover off my computer to blow the dust, lint and pet hair out and unplugged all three two pin connectors for the front panel. they are: H.H.D. LED (yellow/red), POWER SW (orange/white), RESET SW (blue/white).
The male ends on the PTGD1-LA Asus has 5 pins in a row and right below it (toward the edge of the board) there are 4 in a row.
I cannot find a good picture or instructions of what goes where.
In my searching I found out this board came from a HP, however this isn't an HP but couldn't find anything about the connections on their site either.
I'm stuck and am without a computer (my daughter will be wanting the laptop I'm using to type this with soon) until I can get it to the computer guy that I bought it from.
Thank You

firstly why did you dissconnect the front panel connections to clean the case out and secondly pet hair in pc's is NOT good as it is great for binding up fans and i would seriously consider a sponge filter on the fan in future. as for the mobo connections- they "should" be written on the board but you may need a magnifying glass and torch to read them. the important one is the power switch (although this can usually be bypassed on the PSU temperaroly)

the reset switch can be wired either way(no polarity) and the hard drive light wires could wait till you see the bloke you were on about.

should get you going again for now.

I bumped the connectors with the air nozzle, didn't know they were off until done.
I've looked for something on the board but it just reads Front Panel.

"bumped" i should say so !! they're usually pretty snugly fitted on their pins. is their a number(model) on the mobo you can post so we can look for you.

on the motherboard it reads PTGD1-LA

that number seemed to point towards an asus board but i could not find a manual, i also looked on hp's site.....no luck there either. i wonder what would be the worst case scenario of connecting the wires the wrong way on the pins? would it actualy BLOW anything or not. if not , then do trial and error with the two power switch wires , you only have four combinations i think. PLEASE look to see if it will cause any damage first. i will look now and post if i find out.
