Power up message

I have an Acer running W7 64bit pro and all has been OK until I changed the monitor.
I took the opportunity to clean the inside of the PC (I have done this before OK) before using the new monitor (digital connection).
On power up I get a b/w screen saying press Delete (to change the bios) or F1 to continue. F1 starts the PC OK .
How can I power up without getting the screen?

I note the message says that the chassis has been opened, but it is closed now, so what's the deal?

This is normal, and is the BIOS POST (power on self test) check. If you read the third to last line, it says it's because your chassis has been opened. Press Del to enter the BIOS, and look for an option to disable this.

Does anything happen if you don't press any buttons? It's possible your old monitor simply didn't wake up quick enough when your PC was powered on to display this, as it's usually very quick.

As above, in BIOS there's a section to either clear the alert or disable the chassis intrusion function. Either should suffice for 'making it go away'. ;)

Thanks Guys, it took quite a search to find the chassis switch, but I have disabled it now so hopefully that should have cured it.
