Power Usage: R9 280X -> R9 390

As the title implies, I am looking at an upgrade to a new GPU. I've debated between the GTX 970 and the R9 390 and have made my choice due to the possibility of running multiple monitors in the future.

My question is: I'm currently running my 280X on a 600W PSU (CX600M). Though PCPartPicker says I'm still clear by over 100W, will the extra 25W TDP for the R9 390 be too much?

It would put me at 78-82% system load. I don't mind upgrading to a CX750M but I don't want to if I don't have to.

600 should be okay for a single card.

I can whip out the kill a watt and run some benches if it helps :P

Haha I think we're good. It says 750+ recommended so I was a little weary.

I'm buying a new case, psu, and RAM to match the GPU due to selling my old combo in my current setup.

$550 for an 860k/280x setup gives me enough to upgrade to a 390 and keep my FX-8320 :D :D :D

Going from a 290x to 390x is an upgrade, but not a big one. I was looking at some benchmarks for both cards and most of the time there's only about a 5 fps difference between the two and often less, only a couple of tests managing about a 10 fps difference. I would upgrade to 16gb of ram or more :).
You have been bitten by the upgrade bug haven't you :D

Haha yeah... The CX750M is only $12 more and I'm planning on adding an optical drive and LED strips. Better safe than sorry, just need to sell my rig.

What exactly is your 280X holding you back in? Seems like a lot of money for an upgrade as the 280X is still pretty good for games today.
