I see that you are using an Asus a8v deluxe MoBo and a AMD 3500+ chip which is exactly the same combo i will probably get myself. I have been checking into the two MoBo's suggested for the 939 socket with an AGP slot in OC101, but cannot find anyone who has either the DFI or the MSI boards suggested in stock, and a few places has told me that the MSI board has been discontinued. This means the only two MoBo's suggested in OC101 with an AGP slot are just nowhere to be found.

This leaves me with one option, which is to buy the same combo that you have which is this MoBo i think.

I have heard a lotta flack about this board about its limitations on OC ability, and that its just not as good as others i could buy, but for some reason i am still drawn to the ASUS board like yours. Though it may be limited in its OC peak, and because you have this same combo as what i am looking into, i ask you for your opinon.

If i buy this combo, will i be able to get the 2.2 ghz AMD 3500+ Venice core CPU to give me 2.4+ performance, or make it work as though its a 3800+ or a 4000+ cpu? Will i be sorry if i make this purchase considering the specs i have now (see below), and will be making movies and gameing. The system i have now can get choppy on some games, and very choppy when capturing video from a device or editing.

Please tell me what you think, I would really like your input to make sure i am not throwing my money into something that just will not make me a better system than what i have now.

Thanks

Thanks,

I thought maybe he wasnt here everyday, which is why i made this post and maybe this would catch his attention. I hope to go out and get a Mobo and cpu this monday, and was hoping to hear something from him before that time. I guess all i can do is keep my fingers crossed.

Hehe im not actualy using the ASUS board *right now* ... i ended up changing my hardware every few days/weeks so i gave up trying to update the schedule

Nobody on the planet can absolutey for sure tell you whether or not a combo will hti a certain clock or not although given what yer asking it doesnt seem all that hard :) For the most part, you can almost assume all A64s will give you a guaranteed 200Mhz OC; anything past that is generally ok too but not as guaranteed :)
