Preemptive Strike-Vista to 7:upgrade vs reinstall

Just a general quickie as my first ever post

I have a new DELL xps 13 laptop 64-bit with Vista with a free upgrade to 7 in October.

Would anyone recommend whether it would be better to fresh wipe the drive and reinstall with 7 rather than the upgrade-heard of a few conflictions and rather don't trust windows to really uninstall vista files which could clog up my brand new comp.

Well i read somewhere on the forum earlier that you can infact do a clean install of 7 even if you only have the Upgrade version so i would do a nice fresh install.

The Upgrade media allows you to do a clean install.

In fact, you cannot format and wipe your drive clean
before using the Upgrade media.

Windows 7 requires an activated copy of Windows to
be running in order to use it.
