Presario Power Problem

I have a Presario V2000 and have been having power problems. When I plug it in, the charger plug gets real hot and the bottom of the computer where it plugs in gets hot. Nothing else is hot, just those areas. Any ideas what this might be?

definitely theres a shorted problem try to check using tester if theres a continuity on both left and right part of the plug might have a low short circuit triggering the adapter to get hot try using different adapter on laptop check if it is still hot if its hot then your problem is on your loptop power terminal you need a service with this one if not then you have a deffective adapter.....
