ok well i have been wanting a really small, very light laptop. so i have been looking at the sony TX series. it weighs less than 3.0lbs. but now i am seeing this new dell laptop:

INTEL Core Duo Processor, 2.16Ghz
2GB of Ram
Nvidida Geforece 7800 Mobile or watever
and other stuff
this isnt light at all but i wuld make the sacrafice for the new technology and power.

but my real question is, how long do u tihnk it will be until these new dual core processors start becoming available in ultraportable laptops such as the sony?

its the graphics cards though that would not come out in the ultra prtable and besides if u want to play games you really want a fairly big screen

well its strictly business, no gaming. i have a desktop for that. so do u think the processor will come out in ultraportable?

im not sure but i think intel is going to have dual centrino CPU's and a whole bunch of other dual core mobile CPU's. in a few years if not sooner.

as for that DELL laptop. its not worth it. you would be basically buying a desktop diguising itself as a laptop. b/c its dual core and has the 7800 in it. you basicallt always have to plug it in and would heat up and way soo much that you have to set it down on a table to use it.

well i already have a desktop, so y not take the power on the road.

dual core = massive amounts of power. ultra portables have small, lightweight batteries in them, and therefore run "light/medium" processors. you'd be hard pressed to find a dual core powerhouse processor in an ultra portable, for a decent price.
