The AMD FX-53 is better than the P4 3.6 EE, and it's just a coincidence that it is also cheaper. Cheaper isn't always better, but in this comparison it just happens to work that way.

It depends on what you're doing and your budget and how much you'd like to spend vs how much you are willing to spend ... and how much OCing you're gonna be doing
