Hey i got some new articles for the 7900 from my last threat. Thanks alot for that it helped out. However how much do you think this card will cost? currently a 7800 gtx 512mb is 700 bucks. so the 7900 is also 512 mb but the mhz is higher than before... so any rough ideas? id imagine itd also be around 700. now the question is... do i wait for 7900 and spend all taht much? or will a 7800 gtx 256mb be just fine for all the games that everyone plays?

it probably wont cost as much as the 7800gtx 512mb becuase the 7800gtx 512mb is in short supply but high demand. im sure nvidia has learned from this and will have lots of 7900gtx's out and cost as much as the X1900XTX as it is its competitor. really it all depends on you. if you want to spend all that much and willing to wait then do it. but if you cant spend that much and arent willing to wait then the X1900XT(X) would be better as they cost the same as 7800gtx's but are better.

btw no need to make 2 threads. unless it was by accident

If i got a cheaper gfx card for now and then got the 7900 when it came out would there be any compatibility issues? or would it be pretty easy to just switch into my computer

yea thats very easy to do, as long as they are both pci-e. u can just switch it right out.

This thread is going now where and its a multiple of another one. Its uselesss asking questions about future hardware. Just buy whats out now. The day after I purchased my rig the X1K line from ATI came out, but my rig still stands up even if its not the "best".

Just get yourself a X1900XT now it will beat the 7800GTX and the 7800GTX 512 Mb if you overclock it.
