Primary drive(cd drive) disabled!!

and now my cd drive does not work.. it popped up, unsafe removal of drive, and it said my cd drive with all the numbers blah blah blah. now it wont work. what do i do? thanks alot!

turn off your pc... up plug the power and either the IDE or the SATA cable going to your cd rom drive... while unplugged, reboot your pc, get back into your os for about 5 mins... let it fully boot up... after that, right click on my computer then, propties... click on the hardware tab, then device manager... make sure there are not red or yellow warnings on your hardware... if there isnt, turn off your pc, plug back in the power and the connector, and boot back up... your os should autoinstall the drive....
