Prime 95 not testing both cores

I'm having a tempromental problem on my laptop which I suspect is a fault with the motherboard or processor. I'm trying to replicate the issue. I decided I would try stress testing it with Prime 95 but when I run it it only seems to test 1 core. The screenshots below should explain the issue better but it brings up 'No FFT Lenghts Available' messages and sometimes just hangs on 1 core.

The screenshots below are all using the exact same test settings. Does this indicate a problem with the processor?

Just use IntelBurnTest instead, it stresses the system more than prime95 in a much shorter period of time.
