printer connected to hub

i have connected my printer to my bt home hub using a usb cable.
In the hub manager, i can see that the hub recognizes the printer, but i cannot connect to the printer from my computer.

the hub manager tells me the IP adress of the printer, but i have tried adding by ip adress and it will not work.

how do i add the printer to the computer so i can print?
 
So your setting it up as a network printer.....

Why not just plug it straight into your PC.... and do that....
 
the drivers is installed.

i used to have the printer plugged into the pc, but we have several pc's needing the printer, and none of the pc's are permanently left on.
