Printer frustration

Okay, I need a printer that will last a while. If I had known that Canon printers had a built in (short) life limit, I would not have bought it. Less than a year old and I get the message "the ink absorber is almost full". This is home use, not for a business. I can buy another one (which I won't) for less than it will cost to replace the absorber.

For the last 3/4 years. When I buy a printer if its under 75 bucks, when the ink runs out. I throw it away and buy another one.

I'd try something like I've got - an HP Officejet 6500 E709n. It's wireless and I've had it for a couple of years with no problems. No ink absorber to fill - that I'm aware of.

If you need black & white go with a Brother (bought a few 2270's recentlyy and they are GREAT! I've also had my brother for 5+ years no issues.)

For color, I'd go with the HP OfficeJet 6100 (ePrinter..didn't realize there are two models of the officejet). It's wireless and really easy to setup.

I think HP makes the best printers, but you will pay through the roof for ink, though that's most companies anyway. Kodak claims to be cheaper, but it's not by much and the quality is worse. DON'T USE REFILLED INK ON HP PRINTERS! IT CAN RUIN THEM.
