i wanto set up a private gaming server, like to where me and my friends can connect to it and play games over the internet but nobody else how do i go about doing this, i recently bought a server so i want it to a dedicated one that is up all the time

what you mean like a virtual lan? or a private game server like for an mmo? or a dedicated fps server?

if its the first try himachi (dont need a separate server i think). if its the second you need to get a modified version of the game there are communities out there for wow (mangos and one other but i cant remeber the name atm),lineage, war and a few other mmos. for fps most games that support dedicated servers have both client and server software. download the dedicated server software to your server and connect with the ip.

i think this is right but its been a loooong time sicne ive set up a dedicated server (for bf1942 if i remember correctlty)
