Pro or XT

the only diference you are going to get from these two is the a slighty higher FPS, the technology is the same (I believe).

The ATI XT is only Aproximatly 9.75%* faster then the PRO, so my advice is see how much more expensive the XT is and go from there.

9.75%* Was using the average of 4 benchmarks from www.tomshardware.com
Including: 3Dmark2003 - UT2004 - Doom3 - Farcry

x800 pro 12 pixel lines
x800 XT 16 pixel lines
the model I would get is
x800XL 16 pixel lines just downclocked a bit from the xt

now I guess technology they are the same because on the pro alot of times you can unlock the missing pixel lines.
 
I'm just looking to get a sub-$100 video card, and the 9600PRO and the 9600XT are both down there, and they both are decent cards (for now), so I will be buying the XT after the advice. Thanks.

Yeah but slightly off ... within the 9800 series its the same

now I guess technology they are the same because on the pro alot of times you can unlock the missing pixel lines.

Yeah its more "the same" than nvidia cards where the 68NU is generally a different design entirely

Getting a 9800Pro is within the ballpark pricewise and is a better card :)
