Probably A Stupid Question

I have an old Gateway desk computer with a dead hard drive. I do not have the recovery disc that came with it. If I replace the hard drive can I install the back up disc with Windows 7 that came with a Toshiba??
 
No you can't. But you can always download the windows 7 iso and use the key that's on the side of the case providing its for windows 7.
 
Did this Gateway come with Windows 7, or Windows XP? No! all the drivers would be different..
