Probably hard to answer

Well, I know I've made another post about graphics cards a while back, but I have a new question. My favorite game of all time, Mafia, now will soon have a sequel; Mafia 2 (bet you couldn't figure that name out now, could ya ;) ). The only games that I really see myself playing in the future are Mafia 2, GTA 4 (when it comes out for pc, hopefully), and Postal three, which won't be bad. I do like playing games a LOT, but I'm picky on what I play. Now, I know that you can't tell the future, so there is no sure-fire way of answering this, but if you could possibly assist me in this I would be very grateful.

Most of my cash goes into my car, which I am kind of doing a partial restoration on (refurbishing), so I don't usually have cash on hand. My budget is, and no further, about $150 for the card. I have been looking on pricewatch at the ATI Radeon X1950 512mb card for a while. I would go for a different brand, but I have ATI integrated, so I don't believe I can. I will upgrade the power supply. Like I say, no one may know, but does anyone have any idea if this card will suffice? I know there is more than just the card, but I think I have that just about under control. I may need more ram. I don't expect it to perform like a PS3, but it needs to be able to play it without a chop every second. Just curious if anyone could help, due to the fact that there are some next-gen games out already, but no shooter-car stealer-action games out yet. Thanks everyone.

In another few years I will probably build a pc, one that is best suited for gaming, with limited limitations.

you can choose Ati or NVidia cards (if you have a pci-express slot) what sort of integrated grafic's card brand you have doesnt matter with that.

But, i'd like to ask you, what are the spec's on your pc? I mean, no point in putting a x1950 or so into a old P4 or so. (wich dont have a pci-e slot anyway, but i gues you get my point :) )

Hello. It is a HP A1250N with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (2.0 ghz dual core). It has 1 gig of ram and a 250 gb hd. It has an ATI Radeon X200 integrated graphics chip. I think the processor is descent enough, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Every time a new game console comes out, the graphics change dramatically resulting in PC upgrades to keep up. Everything would have checked fine (besides the graphics) on the pc, but the next-gen games are out. Thanks.

Oh, yes! Absolutely. I proposed to use a 550-650w ps. Of course, it would be a basic one and not an expensive power supply, if I can avoid it.
