Problem about imaging xp pro

Hi, i made 4 primary partitions on the hdd then installed xp pro sp3 plus drivers and all the necessary softwares that i need on to the C partition then i took the image of C partition with acronis. After, i installed the image to the rest of the other 3 partitions. Then i edited boot.ini in the C drive. Everything works perfect except on the other systems everything works from c drive. if i want to install a software the software tries to install on to the C drive. if i uninstall a program from C drive, that program doesnt work on the other drives. i checked the PATH but its ok for all drives. Sorry it is very complicated i hope i made a clear understanding. My question is why is that? Why if i installed xp on to all partitions manually and everything works perfect? But if i install image taken from C to the other partitions it doesnt work? i hope i can find an answer. Thanks to all
 
Why may I ask are you installing XP to 4 separate partitions? You just can't install programs once on one partition and then not on the others.
 
Remember since window 95. Microsoft use windows registry file instead win.ini to store program path, keys and other important information. Even if you change the boot.ini it still won't change the registry keys, so it won't work as long as c drive still there.
The image work when you restore it to a different drive and remove the original c drive. so the new drive become c drive or what ever drive letter windows original assign to.
Like John asked, why are you install 4 images in the same drive? are you try to mirror your system? if so you better go Raid 1 setup.
