I have recently completely formatted my computer using a powerful wiping tool, and i now want to re-install Windows XP. But when I insert the disk into the drive and boot from disk, the following error occurs:
For Realtek RTL 8139(X)/810X PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v2.13(020326)
PXE-E61:Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
Can someone please help me as to why the disk won't boot (i have tried the disk on another computer and it works...). Any help would be much appreciated as at the moment I have no OS on my computer
Thanks in advance for any help
EDIT: to make life a bit easier, Linux cds/dvds boot up and install fine, it's just the windows XP SP2 disk that won't respond in my computer. I have an ACER desktop computer (Aspire S200) and I have to drives, both recieving the same error message, and I double checked and the data cable for the drive seems fine... Hope that helps...
