hi all,
i doing some repair for my friend but it become worse...

CF-EG65 Pentium 4 Socket 478B motherboard.Intel 82865G chipsets
PS2 keyboard & mouse, OS window XP
it have a beep sound when it startup, suspect is the monitor.
so a PCI 4mb graphic card had slot in, however, not working so had it removed.

from there on, the reboot can't enter BIOS,
screen show is a counting of memory and a ... technology statment
bottom show press DEL or F1 to enter setup.

after that screen i see nothing, a blank screen and it don't boot the BIOS nor the Window. Even if i try DEL enter BIOS, nothing work. but CPU fan all working.

what is the likely problem that i had cause? could it be the compatibility of the PCI card or the BIOS is been corrupted ?? do flashing the BIOS have in this problem ?

thank all first for helping...

hmmm, stange problem... broken keyboard? lol
seriously, does your PC function correctly if allowed to boot into windows?
the PS/2 port might be screwed, you could try a USB keyboard and see what happens, other than that i cant think of the cause

oh... that sound serious,
how can i determine that the board is broken ??? cos now it cant even enter the BIOS, which can't even see the screen for BIOS.
hit on the DEL will only lead mi to the BLACK screen faster.

btw thank for reply, and hope you can still help... :)

previously yes,
after wat i did, no
it just turn black after that screen
assume that mi pluging in the PCI card, it should have no reason to damage the board rite?
let say mi hit on the socket, it should not be this problem also rite ?

the board actually have some problem already. not able to boot at all but produce a beep sound without even entering the system (which don't even show anything on the screen)

assume it been damage wat can i go abt doing it ??

thank

try to reset the bios wit tat CMOS umper. that might do the trick

it is likely tat te bios has changed himself becaue you putted a pci card into it. so thats why i think you have to reset it ;)

also, try taking your cards out and reseating them... one of them might have become dislodged and isn't seated correctly

thank all for your reply,
my friend decided to change the whole board, feel so bad...

btw appreciate for all your time.
thank
