Alright, so last night I tried connecting up a slave drive. I pluged the cord into the HD, and plugged the little power plug in. I turn the computer on and can hear both HD's running, but in the 'My Computer' thing, it still only has the Master listed, and no slave..

Anyone know whats going on? Any help?

Did you actually set the jumper to slave? If that does not work, try CS. However, the problem you are having is characteristic of a bad jumper setting.

That's the JUMPER...you HDD will have the jumper setting printed on it. Select the slave jumper. Follow the picture (on your HDD) and move that little thingy to where it should be.

I always recomend Cable Select CS to people because if you needed to hot swap drives you dan't have to worry about the jumper settings.

Jumper Settings

Hi

I've been reading the postings on this & I would like to get a little bit of clarification if you please. What should the jumper setting be for the main HD? What do you recommend for the second or slave HD - slave jumper setting?

You see I've the same situation & haven't got mine to work either.

read want i and jjsevdt said above. if you just adding a slave drive just forget about he jumper, take the jumper out and put it in with the master drive and you will be fine. keep the jumper in a safe place, you may need it later.
