right now i have my computer hooked up to an HDTV via the onboard HDMI port, its great with vista no problems at all till i tried dual booting with linux os opensuse. i installed it fine it went through the setup and right when it went to boot up opensuse for the first time it went black, my guess is that opensuse does not have the driver for the hdmi port. how do i fix this anyone have a clue?

you could put linux in a virtual box and run it that way. Virtual box will run linux just like it is its own machine but inside windows or mac or what ever you have and you can create as many virtual boxes as you want

it sounds like opensuse is starting up for the first time on a res not supported by hdmi
if you hookit up using a vga cable if poss should be able to find out if this is the prob

Try safe booting it, and see if you can get anything, or drop down to run level 3 (single user mode) and see if you can get a command prompt.

Drivers for Linux do exist, but they are not usually bundled, which doesn't make much sense to me, but hey I guess they want to keep Linux small and stream lines and not bloated with driver bundles.
