Just finished building a new machine, got all excited, and ...... blue screen oh death !!! 
I have a Win XP Pro CD (circa 2002) and it runs through all the install stuff no probs. I'm not trying RAID and I've also tried disabling all the onboard hardware (ethernet and audio). When it goes for the grand finally after the last reboot, I get the standard WinXP loading screen promptly followed by some technical error and note from Gates telling me Win detected some hardware issue and had to crash.
Here's my specs:
ASUS-P5NSLi
Intel Dual Core 6300
BFG 7900 GS OC PCI-E (just the one)
2x1Gb OCZ
Do you think it's reasonable to assume (or hope) that this problem could be fixed by trying to installed a slipstreamed win XP including SP2? Anyway, I'm going to try that tommorrow night, but any input would be greatly appreciated.
