Problem on Boot

I just bought a basic pos system thats like 1GHz with 512 ram and 40gig hardrive. i tryed to load windows xp on it through a recovery disk from my bros emachines. (ive done it b4 on my computer. It always worked) it loaded the o/s fine than when it tryes to boot. it gets stuck on a black screen with a white loading bar at the bottom, the bar loads than just sits at the screen....any ideas how i can get it to boot? it wont let me get to safe mode or anything either cuz it still has the bar loading screen every time i try to load it?!?!?!?!??!!??

Its illegal to use a recovery CD to install to another system and hence "recovery disks" normally don't include everything to perform a fresh install of windows

than why can i install a fresh copy on my other comp thats not the original comp for the cd?

Probably because it has a hidden partition containing certain system/recovery files.
