Problem Playing Any Video Files

I recently bought a new computer, but can't seem to get any videos to play on anything other then Windows Media Center.

At first I thought it was only DIVX and XVID files, but even streaming videos don't work. The sounf plays, but no video shows up. I downloaded VLC player, and installed codec, but I still have the same problem! Can anyone help? Why do the files just work on Media Center? Any help would be appreciated!

The videos will only play on Windows Media Center. On any other video player, such as VLC or Windows Media Player, it screen is black and only the sound can be heard.

i had the same problem. i simply fixed it by lowering the video accerleration speed. its in options under the performance tab. hope that helps. also make sure you have the latest codecs and latest WMP

Thank worked great! Any idea how I could do this on VLC, or the offical DIVX Player 6.1?

And, MrBucket, what type of details do you want?
