Hi this is my first thread on this fourm. I have a serious problem with my laptop it is stuck in a reboot loop after i went in msconfig and changed boot timeout time to 3 seconds instead of 30 it was supposed to speed the boot time up apparently to some one on youtube. I went in safe mode to change it back to 30 seconds and i still have the problem only safe mode works not safe mode with networking or anything like that i have restored to a previous date on safe mode that didn't effect anything either I WILL BE SO THANK FULL IF I CAN GET RESPONSES TODAY

Try checking the hard drive for errors? You might want to relax on the language too.

Check the "boot.ini" file and make sure that in the second line "timeout" is set to "30".Here is an example:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /forceresetreg

"boot.ini" file is in the root of your drive.Usually "C:\".Also that file has hidden attributes so make sure that in the folder options you turn on the option to show hidden data (files/folders).After that just open "boot.ini" with notepad and do what I said above.Change the "timeout=5" to "timeout=30".Save the file by going to FILE->SAVE and then close the notepad and restart the computer.

Do not change anything except the "timeout".Report back with the results.

Cheers!
