Problem recently built computer

I have recently built a new computer and configuired the bios setup. I have partioned the hard drive and formatted it and made it active. But when i restart the computer it does everything good until it commes to check the memory after that has finished under it it says default f3? then when i press f3 with my windows xp in the cd drive it it says its not a bootable disk insert floppy and press any key to try again. i press a key and it says disk error insert system disk why is this happening? please help me!!

You need to select the optical drive as the first boot device in the bios.

if u have more then one drive make sure the jumper settings are rite

also remove the cd as this may remove any more possibilitys and narrow the chances of probs arrising

Or alternatively press the button that allows u to select the boot device

The CD will be needed to install the OS

i thought he had already done that and was now booting into windows.
