Problem uploading image

I am trying to upload images into my google docs but every time it says:
"The file you selected was not a valid image file. Please select another file and try again."

The images I am uploading are from my samsung digital camera and are of the form jpeg.

could it be the files are too large, alot of sites have size limits, but they don`t always say the file is too big, they sometimes just show error etc
