First, a question...

1. Do i need to install the new cards drivers BEFORE i install the card? I didnt see anything that said this but maybe its assumed...

Now, im trying to install my gpu in my comp, its a fairly new hp 6600 w/ the quad intel processor. I installed it twice and both times i get a high pitched whining sound and nothing comes onto my screen.

I didnt see anythin about this in the directions but i searched and found something but not sure if it applies to my situation. Do i need to plug any power into either the 6pin black connector on the side of the card or connect anything to the 7 pin slot thats right next to the monitor input?

Man i really hope its not a doa, i dont really wanna hassle with sending it back. And no I didnt get it off ebay, I got it from tigerdirect so i think they will exchange it if thats the problem.

Anyone?

that noise is signifying that you need to plug the six pin power connector into your gpu, now hopefully your powersupply unit has one :-)

oh yeah and no you dont have to install the drivers first, but like I said, look for a cord on your power supply that has a matching power connector for the graphics card and your set, umm how many watts is your power supply unit ?

Awesome! just glad to hear i dont have to send it back now. They should have mentioned that in the directions for what its worth now. I have a 700w psu and it has a grip of 6pin connectors so i should be good to roll. I post back if theres any other problems. Thanks man!
