Problem w/ Office Product Key

I recently purchased Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 from this website: http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-us/default.aspx

Since I'm a new college student at a local community college I was eligible to purchase it for only $59.95 like the web site says. So I purchased it and downloaded it.

My problem is that the idiots at microsoft have apparently sent me a invalid product key. I have punched it in many times with no success painstakingly checking every character for correctness:mad:. I have even copied and pasted it directly from the e-mail that microsoft sent me with no success:mad::mad::mad:

So my question is how do I contact microsoft to resolve this problem with out giving them any more money or is there another way I can resolve this problem?

Thanks for any help

So I called microsoft and they told me that the key is valid and I either had a previous version of MS office installed (which I don't, I even tried to install it on a different computer also without a previous version of Office and had the same problem) or I downloaded a corrupted file (but it installed perfectly)

So I uninstalled it and I'm going to try to download it again tomorrow. I still don't believe that the file was corrupt because it installed just fine and I know for sure that I do not have any previous versions of MS Office on my computer.

Grrrrrrrrr it's a SCAM :mad: Now when I go back to download it, says it can't find my order number.

So I guess microsoft has taken their free $60.00 form me :mad::mad:

I guess I will try calling them again :mad::mad:

hm that's weird, let me know what happens..because that just isn't fair.

Microsoft will help you, they are a good, honorable company, with high standards for quality and superior service....

(oh because I know people are going to ask..YES, you can use the above quote in your signatures)

It finally found my order, but when I went to download it it gave me a 404 error and now the douchebags at customer service thinks I don't know anything about computers and are going to sned me a email explaining to me how to disable firewalls :mad::mad:

I'll try again tomorrow and if i get the 404 again I guess it's back to calling them

REFER TO MY ABOVE COMMENT!!

Microsoft is never to blame! It is always the customers fault for being a noob! You will be screwed by using Microsoft!

Once you check the 'I agree' box everything will be ok.

Ok here is a update. Apparently it's not Microsoft's fault

The company that you download the actual file from is Digital River. So I called them and they said their IT department is working on the download site right now so I guess that would explain the 404 error. So I'm going to try tomorrow to download it once again in hopes the product key will work this time...

Well I finaly got to the bottom of this.

And yes scooter, it's not Microsoft's fault ;)

The bozos at digital river sent me a product key to Office Standard and not Office Ultimate. They said that they will e-mail me shortly on how to resolve this problem. I just hope they stick to their word this time.

Finally after a week and a half, I was just sent a new product key today and it works!! :)

After all those long hours on the phone...
