Problem w/ x850 pro, help?

my computer is running fine, but when i play cs 1.6 im gettin bad frame rates, im getting around 70fps in 1.6 w/ my x850!! but if i just hit "play cs" on the screen where i can pick to find servers and what not i easily get 400-500fps, but once i get into the game it goes to 70 sometimes less..but the second i look up or down my frames max out at the set 100 frames?
 
100 frame cap might be due to Vsync combined with a 100hz refresh rate.
Have AA and AF turned all the way up?
 
i know how to disable the 100fps max rate in cs, my AA and AF are all the way up, and my refresh rate is at 100hz.
 
you are only getting 400-500 frames in the menus because they are just that, menus. There is very little to be rendered or cacluated in the menu and your frame rate indicates that.
 
well i understand that, but i should be getting even more frames on the menus, its easy to reach 1000fps w/ my bfg 6800gt
 
lol i was playing a very old version of cs and i was getting 17 framerates with my x850pro...wierd, probably some settings messed up.
