My sister's computer has been acting quite strangely. Every time she turns on the computer, everything would be ok until she is shown the Welcome screen. When that appears, you have to wait about 30 seconds until it would proceed then it shows the desktop background with nothing on it. No icons, no taskbar, just the mouse and background. Then you have to wait about 5 minutes before the icons appear and it finishes loading.
During that 5 minutes, the computer doesn't seem to be processing anything at all since the red light would just off. When you restart the computer, the 5 minute wait does not occur, only when you turn the computer off and turn it on will it show.
Does anyone know what the problem would be and how I could fix it? Could there be a virus or spyware or anything else?
