problem with 8800gts 320mb

hey guys,
I cannot run any game or benchmark with my 8800gts if i do about 5mins later i get a freeze than a black screen and i have to manualy restart the computer I have no idea why this. Im running Xp Pro SP2 and all the latest drivers .

Most probably your OC is the problem try lowering your core speed and memory or your card.

the oc is from the manifacturer i havn't done any Oc'ing on anything

Try updating your driver to latest available.

Another probable thing is that you may have got a faulty card.

try running ATI tool to see if you get any artifacts

i just ran ati tool and it totaly screwed up my display. it went to a blue error screen than when i restard my display went all weird with lines and random pixels flashing and pictures screwed. i now think my card is defective

Lol guys i just under cloced it to 500/850 and i was able to run 3dmark06 and scored 8475

You don't want to under clock your card though, I'd take it back and tell them it's faulty and get a new one!

yea exactly what im gonna do but under clocking it is working like a charm atm. I built this rig nearly 2wks ago and tonight is the 1st night ive actually been able to USE it properly. I'm now having fun playing quake wars.
