I bought Western Digital 1TB essential external hard drive, two of them. I barely use them, the main use I have for them is to back up TV shows from me computer so I'll have more space for new seasons. One of them broke like a year ago (it's not literally broken, it's just not showing up on the computer) but that's not the issue here. The other one is working for years, in the few times I use it.
Today I plugged the working one to my friend's computer to transfer some shows and it didn't appear on the computer. I tried to plug it to my computer and it didn't show up there. But the weird thing is when I plugged it it made the sound Windows is doing when you plug something to the USB and also the device appeared on the list of connected devices (I even had the option to eject it). But still, this device is not appearing on the list in My Computer and I can't access the files in it.
Is there any way I can get into the device and access the files or is it too far gone?
Anyway, I'm done with Western Digital.
