Problem with clicking links...

Whenever my buddy clicks on a link, the window opens small and he has to click the maximize button for ever window. This started after a rash of spyware and viruses. I cleaned up his computer and all is working fine except that little issue. Did i miss removing some junk or is there a setting within windows/IE that can be changed?

You didn't miss anything, what probably happened was IE's settings were moved back to default. Is the issue that the window isn't maxamized or is the issue that it's brining up a new window rather than opening a link in the current window? Also is this IE6 or IE7? If you go under control pannel, network / internet connections, internet options you should find some settings to adjust under there. It would be under tab settings for IE7 most likely. I'm not sure where it would be on IE6
