Problem with front panel audio

Hey guys, my dad bought a really budget-ed PC and he chose this case:

Now, the problem is that in the front panel, neither of the speaker and mic jacks work. I have checked that the cable is correctly connected into the mobo pins inside and nothing. Weird thing is my dad has bought two of these exact same cases and front panel audio does not work on either one.

Any ideas?

Thanks :)

is it a motherboard with realtek audio drivers? if so, open the panel, click on the middle tab (Audio I/O) at the top. click the little wrench to the right of "analog" for settings, then disable front panel jack detection. i cant remember if there is a confirmation box that pops up or not. that should work if you are usign teh realtek audo drivers.

does vista say something is connected when you connect headphones? i think in device manager it will tell you this.
