Hi, Im having a problem booting a drive with WIN XP, everything was fine, I have a hard disk as master and a CD ROM as slave on IDE1, also I have a CDRW as master on IDE2, so everything was working fine, after I got another HD disk.

First I put this other HD (this HD is from another PC that also was running XP) as slave instead of the CD ROM on IDE1, everything booted fine, but when I replaced my original HD with this new one as master, I cant boot anymore, and when I try to returno to the original HD to boot as normally the PC doesnt recognize the HD.

So what can I do to return booting from the original HD, because I dont know why it cant boot if everything is connected and leaved as before I tried the other HD.

Thanks

The hard drive that you connected to your computer (the one that was in a different system) Is not booting because, when you try to boot from a different machines O.S config the drivers will try and start up for the other system, your system will need other drivers, that are for your systems components.

I am not sure why your other hard drive is not being detected, but if you cant seem to find a solution you can always use the drive that the system can see and install windows on that:)
