Problem with installing windows

hi folks

I formatted my old pc the other day and went to reinstall wondows 2000. It was only when i got to the part when you have to input the product key serial number that i realised i hadn't got the number & i still can't find it (it's a copy..i know, i'm a criminal) Now every time i turn on the computer it goes to the point where it asks for the product key and off course won't go any further. I tryed some of the f8 functions but i'm not sure,

How do i wipe this clean and maybe try install windows that i do have the product key for?

Well, you'll have to reformat the drive and than proceed to install the windows that you have a key for. There is no way you can get around that cd key prompt if you don't insert a key.

But how do i format the drive at this point?

boot with another windows cd and it will format during installation.
