Hi all, my internet has been acting funny recently and even more recently been basically near-useless. I have absolutely no idea what's wrong with it either. I'm really handy with software and hardware, but networking is something I despise and can never understand for the live of me. Here's my situation:
I am currently using a Linksys E3200 model wireless N router, connected to my Time Warner Cable DSL Modem, which is receiving "up to" 15mbps or 1.9MB/s. My connection to my computer is OK, it will drop sometimes and sometimes act up, but generally it's fine. My Xbox 360, for the past three days, cannot successfully download a DLC file through my wireless. It will go up to 40% and then randomly drop back to 0% and start over again and never make it very far and randomly disconnect from the router all day long. My laptop has recently been kinda slow on the internet, and is downloading a 113MB file at about 110KB/s. I have switched routers to my old one twice and the older model is even worse than this one, and has the same problems (just magnified because of it's age). The E3200 gets really hot and stays that way for long periods of time, but it was working fine a month ago so I'm not sure exactly what changed. Does anybody have any idea whats going on? How can I fix this? Do I need a new router? I will be trying to contact TWC today to address the issue. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
