Problem with Laptop Memory Dump

My Laptop is a Toshiba L775 series. Last week, I purchased PNY compatible RAM to upgrade from 4 to 8 gb. After about 2 days I started having memory dumps about once every two hours. It has gotten progressively worse. It is giving me a dump about every 10 minutes now.

The 8gb is recognized. There is nothing in the bios to change and even after putting the original RAM back in, its still doing it.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Since you are getting blue screens since adding memory, you can almost bet you have bad memory. Do the following.

Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

Yep, I would definately start with running memtest on your memory sticks one at a time to find out which one is bad.
 
Ok so I purchased memtest deluxe. Ran the first 4gb stick to 1000%. 4 errors.

Ran the second stick to 1000%, no errors.

Replaced the first stick with a new one, ran it for 1000%. No errors.

Put both sticks in, 2 minutes after bootup, got the BSOD memory dump and reboot. laptop wont stay booted more than 2-3 minutes without a dump

Both sticks are good, no errors, according to memtest deluxe.

Any ideas?
 
Found and fixed the problem. What I intended to do was upgrade the Ram from 4 to 8 GB and replace the HDD with a 250gb SSD then put the HDD into and enclosure for my storage.

When I added the new RAM, with the recommendation after the mem dumps, with memtest deluxe I found the bad stick. Replaced both but still had memory dumps. Started getting errors that something was wrong with the boot file (Corrupted). I wonder if putting in a bad stick of ram caused that problem somehow? Anyway, I ran the recovery software, and the first two times it gave me a corrupt error and could not complete the recovery. I was thinking maybe the HDD failed, but tried it a third time anyway. Third time worked fine. Used Apricorn and dupplicated my HDD to my SDD and replaced the drive. Now the laptop is doing what I wanted. FLYING! With the 8gb of DDR 3 and the 250gb SSD, this thing is really running a lot faster. Thanks for all the replies and input. It definitely helped. And buying the deluxe version of memtest was well worth it, with now 4 Laptops and two desktops in the house plus all the other friends and families I work on, I am sure it will come in handy again.
