Hello,
I am currently using a Sony laptop with Windows XP SP2. I normally use it for surfing the web and checking my emails.
Lately, a small icon has been popping up saying that I am running out of memory and need to shut down some programs. The problem is I am not running any programs apart from a few open windows connected to the internet.
What happens is that when I start to browse and surf, it will work fine and then the page get hanged and the cursor jerks (doesn't move smoothly). Then all the opened browsers/windows just shut down by itself. When I click on Window Explorer again to access the internet, it works fine until the same thing happens again.
I did a check disk on MS-DOS and also on start-up and there were no errors. I also did disk clean-up often but problem still exist. Is there a possibility that the files did not get erased even with disk clean-up and that is the reason why it is affecting my memory or something? I don't have a lot of programs in my hard-disk and there's still plenty of space left.
A final option is to reformat the harddisk but this will take time and I have to reinstall all my softwares again. Is there a way to fix this without having to do the final option? Please help. Thank you.
