Problem with my different ram readers

I am using Windows XP right now. If I right click on my computer and go to properties, it says I have 3.50 GB of RAM; however, if I look under a tool called FreeMeter, it says that I only have 2,097,152 KB or 2 GB of RAM.

I have been having a difficult time with my computer. It has been slow to load webpages. Could this mean I have a bad stick of RAM? Before I pull out sticks to test, I would like to see if anyone else has ever encountered a problem like this and if they have, what they did to fix this problem.

If web pages load slow it could be time to reboot your modem and router. I'm not familiar with that freemeter program but I know windows tells you what you have. And unless you do some memory intensive programs then most likely you aren't using all that memory anyway. 2gb is plenty for a normal user. Is it just the internet that is giving you problems? Also, you might want to delete your temporary internet files as they will slow you down if they continue to accummulate on you.

That's because you're running a 32 bit operating system, which limits memory to between 3 and 4GB, depending on your motherboard. And 32 bit programs can only address 2GB of RAM, so it will only "see" 2GB of it, CPU-Z or PCWizard both downloadable from http://www.cpuid.com will detect the correct amount of memory you have however.
 
Well, you are correct. I am using a 32 bit OS which does use between 3 and 4 GB (I said it has 3.5 GB). What do you mean that 32 bit programs can only address 2 GB? Can you give me a link to something explaining what you mean? It still does not explain why my computer is moving slowly. hm....
