I bought this video card: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Visi...id/-13043/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do#prodspecs
When I installed the drivers it said somthing like it doesnt have a windows xp logo or didnt match the windows xp logo but on the box it says it works for xp. It still installed and I hooked up my 30" monitor to it and I am having problems with the display settings. The video card is supposed to support 2500x1600 resolution (says so on the box) but only goes up to 2560x1024 for 1 monitor output and 2048x1536 for the other on this card. When I set it to 2048x1536 on my 30" monitor it stays that way for a few minutes and then goes to a much lower resolution like 1200x800. Also when I have the setting set to 2048x1536 it doestnt show the whole desktop on my screen, it shows a small amount and then I have to scroll around with my mouse to view the rest fo the desktop. I have all the drivers installed for the monitor and the video card. Is this video card just not compatable with my system or is there something else that could be wrong with it?

Did you install drivers from the Cd (not recommended) or from ATI/Nvidia's respective websites? You are attempting to run a resolution your monitor is capable of or native to, correct?

I installed the video card drivers from the CD and the monitor is capable of the resolution I was attempting, got the drivers on the monitor from the manufacturer's site. Should I try to download the drivers from the Ati (video card's) site?

I tried to install the drivers for my card and went through the motions and it eventually said this as it was installing.

"Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operation system. Setup will now exit."

I double checked to make sure I was downloading the correct drivers, I dont understand why its not working.

ATI no longer supports AGP in their newest drivers. You have to get the newest drivers direct from Visiontek. They have the only AGP drivers for it.

Make sure you pick the correct ones for the 2400 pro AGP and not pcie, and pick the correct OS option. I ran into this same problem with my Visiontek 2600 pro AGP card.

I got this message which is the same message I got when I installed the drivers on the cd that came with the video card. I dont get this cuz on the box it says it supports windows xp, Im thinking about going and getting the 2600 pro or some other card. Paratwa did you get this message when you installed the drivers for your car?

Those messages are absolutely normal, don't worry about it. The impairing and destabilization the message alludes to never happens, it's just M$ being anal.

I am the only driver for my car, so I didn't have to install any. :)

But yeah, that popup is normal. It just means that Microsoft has not approved them. But they will work anyways.

No, I installed the drivers and had the same problem that I stated in the op, now Im gonna email visiontek support and see what they say about it.

edit: I am reading there forums right now and it looks like a bunch of there cards are having problems including the card I have, hopefully I can find out something to help me.

I figured out something when running my 30" monitor I need to only have IT activated and NOTHING else running off of my card and I was having problems cuz I had my 20" running on the card as well. So either my power supply isnt giving the card enough power (its a 250w and the card needs a 270w) or the card cant support running a 2560x1600 and a 1600x1200 res at the same time. My card is a radeon hd 2400 pro agp.
