Problem with Spybot

Hi
I have problem with Spybot - Search && Destroy version: 1.3. and
Ad-aware.

Spybot recently was working properly but now during the scan it gives
error:
Error during check!: Xuron55 (Datei C:\WINDOWS\win.ini kann nicht geöffnet werden.
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process) ()
I did it also in a safe mode but result the same.
What’s the catch?

Any idea what’s going on?

Ad-aware performing conditional scan shows message busy
and hangs or waits I don’t know. (even in full system scan)

Any idea what’s going on?

Sounds like you got some malware. Uninstall Spybot, there's a newer version you can get in Byteman's sticky. Follow the steps in the sticky, if you still get problems post a Hijackthis log.
 
Sid, Buzz's response already directs him to do an alternative scan. Don't reply to posts just to jack your post count higher!

troteris, that's an internal error with Spybot 1.3, uninstalling and upgrading like Buzz said will fix it. Alternatively, if you want to keep 1.3, you'll need to click your check for updates button and be sure to select "Advanced Library updates", that has the fix for 1.3 in it. :)

Run the full scan in safemode first (F8 button when booting), then see if it hangs in normal scan.

Are you running the latest version? 1.06 if not, try installing it. (download the file and execute it, it has a self un-installer built in that will uninstall the previous version automatically). :)
