I have 2 PC which share one monitor and a set of keyboard and mouse via a switch. For unknown reason, one the PC stopped sharing the monitor, keyboard and mouse.

I have tried to plug the monitor, keyboard and mouse direct to the PC, but the PC is beeping as soon as it is boot up and go blank??

Please can someone suggest, what is it doing??

Many thanks, Bonnie

those beeps are bios error codes, check with your motherboard manual to see what they mean

I do not know a lot about switches and so forth but luckily I have had this type of error before. When you set up a KVM switch for a while sometimes the computer gets used to the dual monitor and sets its self up for a dual configuration. If you unplug the swith the graphics cars will not recognise the monitor or other Peripherals it will only recognise them through the switch. If you are running XP this should not be a problem.

You should try different hardware (Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard) on the system to see if it is the motherboard as Cromewell said

Could it be the machine is toasted?
