Problem with Toshiba Combo CDRW-DVD drive

I have a problem with Toshiba CDRW/DVD Combo drive (Toshiba SD-R2212) on my Hi-Grade Ultinote M6500 laptop. When I insert a DVD disc with avi files burned on it and when I try to browse through disc in Windows Explorer, the DVD disc seems empty. I've checked the DVD disc on my friends DVD drive and the avi files were visible on his computer. The DVD disc is Verbatim DVD+R for recording 4.7 GB 8x 120 min.

Does anybody know, what's going on?

Thanks!

i know that there is some kind of viewing problems with the +r and -R formats of the discs. The player which your trying to play it on cannot "see" the +R format type which is very different from the -R. Try burning on a -R disc/format and viewing on same computer. And just as i suspected... right from the horses mouth

It is able to read all forms of CD, DVD, DVD-R, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM and DVD-RW

If you're burning DVD+R discs you can set the booktypes ... of course that may not work but usually works for a lot of people :)
