Problem with vaio laptop

Hi guys.
New on here. Im not a huge computer guy so bear with me please.
I have a Sony Vaio PCG 7M1L. Recently the DVD drive stopped working. it makes noises and spools up and slows down and makes a few clunks and whirrs but nothing happens. it played a DVD but it stopped doing that. I went through and the computer told me the drive is functioning properly but it really isnt. I followed the instructions on taking it out of device manager then rebooting up the computer andit found it but it still wont work.
the Windows troubleshooting download program didn't find anything wrong.

The drive is a DW-Q58A. Is that a common drive i can pick up at a regular store or is it model specific? Does anyone on here have one for sale?

Ok Rob, your DVD drive has expiried so you must replace it if you wish to use DVDs with your Vaio.
