I am not computer savvy at all and I really need help. I recently had my computer reformatted and when it came back I had two problems.
1. My screen is stretched horizontally. I've tried every resolution available in control panel, but non of them look right. I'm not sure what the the resolution for my screen is supposed to be because I don't know where to find that information, though I have looked.
2. My computer will no longer hibernate. I don't even have a hibernation tab to adjust hibernation settings anymore and my standby button in my shut down menu is faded out. I read somewhere online that that could be caused by a problem with the video card.
I didn't have either of these problems before my computer got reformatted. I have never messed with my video card before. I don't even know how to access it. I think I have all the necessary drivers (I've downloaded all the drivers from my discs and from Windows). I've looked for my video card on my device manager but I can't find it. I don't know if it's not there for some reason or if I just don't know what I'm looking for.
I don't know what to do from here. Can anyone help me?
Computer specs to the best of my knowledge:
Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop
Windows XP, service pack 3
Intel (R) Core(TM)2 DUO CPU
T7500 @ 2.20 GHz
2.19 GHz, 3.49 GB RAM
