Problem with video file

I got a movie I need to cut and use in a project, which is in HD (720p) which is compressed using the dx50 video codec (according to MediaCoder). The problem is that I can't import the file in After Effects or Premiere Pro. I tried different settings with MediaCoder, but all I've got was a 1.5 GB file with no video or audio.

I need this file to work with Premiere or to convert it so I can edit it. How can I do that? Is there a plugin or something for premiere or afterfx to do that? Or what settings should I use in MediaCoder so the file works?
 
.avi. The problem is not the extension, but the codec.

Is there any plugins for adobe software to make it work with this dx50? Or some way to convert it to a readable format?
