Problem With Vista

Hello, Got A Little Issue Here. I Got Windows XP pro 32 bit i need to install Vista 64Bit

well when i put in the CD it tells me something about not suported by this OS.. so i tried to boot off the CD but it wont boot cuz of the same reason. i read that u cant install vista 64 over xp pro 32 bit but someone has to have a real answer some where..haha thanks
 
I'm inclined to believe you're misreporting the errors you're getting.

BIOS doesn't tell you anything about the OS unless there is no OS on any bootable drive. That would suggest that you're getting into Windows before you're getting the error, but I'd expect you'd have mentioned that.

You may have a boot order problem. Go into BIOS and find the boot order, and make sure the CD is before the hard drive.

And tell us exactly what it's saying, word for word if possible.
 
ok got it boot off the DVD now i just wasnt using my master Drive cuz i have a external that i use all the time and the master is my internal that i rarely use but i got it to boot and then i got some error almost looks like BSOD but it said something about storport.sys FFFFFA6000E08920
 
what version are you trying to upgrade to

you know xp pro can only upgrade to vista business or ultimate right?

Google the error code. Then let's see where it takes us.
 
google'd that code for almost an hour now cant really find much except replace the system file but my vista wont install. so i cant put in the .sys file in..haha so idk what to do now
 
So it doesn't even take you to the install menu when booting off the disc? What version of Vista are you installing? Are you doing an upgrade or a full install?
 
full install...trying to reformat my HDD And Start Fresh With Vista..

and no answer ur question no it wont even take me to the install menu it was say starting windows and thats when i get that screen so i cant select nothing idk lol im almost at the point where i got a bad Disk
